New Jersey Man Who Almost Lost $273 Million Lottery Ticket
An unemployed man from Alpha, New Jersey, who had recently divorced, won a $273 million Mega Millions lottery jackpot on March 1, 2019.
Michael J Weirsky (Mike) bought a $10 Mega Millions ticket at QuickChek in Phillipsburg but got distracted by his phone and accidentally left the ticket on the table where he was sitting.
Luckily, fate was on his side. A stranger found the ticket and handed it to the store staff. The next day, when Mike returned, he asked the staff about his missing ticket. After verifying that he was the rightful owner, they gave it back to him.
That ticket later turned out to be the winner of the $273 million jackpot. What a Luck!!
